I think I found how to fold space and time.....

The ship was cruising high above the frozen ice fields and I picked up the broken shell of an Imperial Eagle mashed into the hardened powdered surface of this cold and desolate moon. The landing went smooth and I set out in my SRV to see if there were any survivors. From the cargo of illegal narcotics and armaments the crew were obviously smugglers, but what were they doing out here 13000light years from occupied space?
Their escape pods were close to the wreckage, but because they were in stasis I had no way of asking them to elaborate on why they were here. I scanned the area and found nothing obvious and no strange anomalies. There weren't even any usable materials for me to scoop up and take back with me. I picked up their pods and brought them back to the ship. At least I could get them back home sometime I thought. Take off went smoothly and there was nothing out of the ordinary that I could detect. The map showed me my next destination on my journey to Sagittarius A, a pilgrimage that all seasoned pilots should make at some time in their life. From the stars we come and to the stars we return.
All systems checked out for my next jump and systems were reading normal. The countdown started, 4....3....2...1 Engage.....The accretion disc of hyperspace matter formed around my ship and with the sound of the jump engines rising, the Asp Explorer launched itself into the void.......
For a while that is all I remember..... I guess I must have blacked out, but this was something that had never happened to me before. I usually set my systems to stop all engines when jumping so that I didn't crash into the sun, but for some reason, this never happened. A fuzziness left me dazed and with a sensation of cotton wool in my mouth. A voice was speaking to me, but I could not make out the words. I strained and strained to hear what the disembodied voice was trying to tell me, but the only words I could pick out were Eject.....Eject.... Eject.....and then nothing.
I woke up and found myself still sat in my pilots chair, my body was drenched in sweat and initially I couldn't hear anything. Familiar noises started to penetrate my senses. The gentle sussuring noise of air-conditioning vents and clank and hiss of ship landing platforms elevating and lowering ships and the background Tannoy systems of station announcers giving out the same old platitudes about remembering to ask for permission to leave the station before exiting and minding your speed in the dock.
I checked my galaxy map....Where the hell was I?? The map must be lying to me or my controls were screwed, but I was back in Baal. Had I picked up some device hidden in one of the escape pods which were both, suspiciously missing? Where was all the data I had collected on my way out? Why was my credit balance nearly 2 million credits lighter? I'd travelled 13000 light years in the blink of an eye when it had taken me months of jumping and scooping, jumping and scooping. Somehow I had managed what theorists had only guessed was possible. I had managed to fold space back to my origin. Had I discovered something alien on that distant world that had flung me back over that phenomenal distance? Perhaps aliens do exist and they don't want their secret out.....not just yet at least..
